Perry Stone talks in His Studio with Bill Cloud. Perry Stone says we a re entering the season of answered prayer. Are you concerned about you prayers being answered? Could there be things in your life that are hindering from God working in your life. Are there times that God has set aside so that He can perform special actions towards the earth? We are coming into the fall season. Inn this time God sets his calendar in motion. Perry Stone believes that God still uses his calendar. How we view time and how God views time are different. To correctly interoperate scripture and to understand what God is trying to tell us we have to start looking at scripture in this case the calendar at the way God sees it. Why does Perry Stone preach from the Old Testament when the Old Testament is not for us today? 1. Men have called it the old and new testament — we shouldn’t of done that 2. Apostils in the New Testament quote the Old Testament to prove that Jesus is the Messiah 3. New Testament quotes the Old Testament Hundreds of times 4. The Old Testament is the New Testament Canceled and the New Testament is the Old Testament reviled 5. 2 Timothy 3:16 — All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God and profitable 1 Corinthians 10:11 – 11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. If we really believe that from genesis to Malachi is not for us then why do we put it in our bibles 1. The …
About the Author:

Lindsey’s Date Setting Flawed

Hal Lindsey believes in a pretribulational rapture. This means that the rapture must occur at least seven years prior to the great tribulation according to his prophetic time-clock. Apparently he did not include this in his calculation for his predicted date was 1988. A more accurate date would have been 1981.

Predictions in the Old Testament

Since the rapture is related to the great tribulation in Lindsey’s view, it could be helpful to examine the biblical prophecies to get an idea of their time parameters.

The great tribulation is predicted in the Old Testament. In Jeremiah it is called the time of Jacob’s trouble. However, Jacob (Israel) would be saved out of it. Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; and it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it. (Jeremiah 30:6).

Daniel’s Time of Trouble.

Daniel calls the great tribulation a time of trouble, the likes of which Israel had never seen nor would ever see again once it happened. “…And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book.” (Daniel 12:1)

As in Jeremiah, Daniel likewise foretells that some in Israel would be delivered. However, he sees the event connected to the resurrection of the dead. For he says, And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. (v. 2) Thus for him, the great tribulation culminates in Christ’s return.

Predictions in the New Testament

The great tribulation theme is spoken of by Christ, and also permeates the writings of the apostles. Jesus quoting Daniel applies this event to the time of Jerusalem’s fall by the Romans, (Matthew 24, 3, 21, 34; Luke 21:20-24).

The apostles warned the church that the tribulation would happen in their day to encourage them not to abandon Christianity in the midst of their severe trials and persecution.

First Century Christians Experience and Endure the Great Tribulation

To the Corinthians, Paul wrote of the present distress, 1 Corinthians 7:26. For Paul and his readers, the tribulation was real, present and painful. They knew nothing of a tribulation far removed into the remote future. To them, the “time was short” (v. 29) with the end of the age having come upon them, (10:11).

That tribulation affected social life, in particular, marriage relationships because of the commitment required to remain faithful and the challenges it would bring on new marriages where one spouse might not be as committed to Christianity in view of the suffering. See 1 Corinthians 7:10-16, 26-29).

It was Paul’s constant concern to strengthen and encourage the churches in view of the oncoming tribulation they would experience. “Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, ‘We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” (Acts 14:22)

To this end, Paul exhorted the church at Thessalonica. “That no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this. For in fact, we told you before when we were with you that we would suffer tribulation, just as it happened, and you know.” (1 Thessalonians 3:3, 4).

The second letter to this church further encouraged them amidst their present, ongoing trials of persecution and suffering that would only be alleviated by Jesus’ return. (2 Thessalonians 1:4-7). They were told to expect it before they all died, (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17).

John, who wrote Revelation, said he was in the tribulation. (Revelation 1:9). In Lindsey’s pretribulational rapture view, the rapture would have to have to occurred before John wrote. All these events happened in the past. Remember, the tribulation would be unparalleled in Israel’s history. Thus, for Hal Lindsey to predict a modern day rapture would imply a modern day tribulation that would contradict the biblical account. Not only did he miss his prediction but we are now almost 18 years, removed from Lindsey’s magical date.

While Lindsey failed to make good on his failed prophecies which he has not revised even in later editions of his book, he made a fortune on the lies. Maybe his next book could be titled, “Too Late for 1988.”
candle wedding favors

“Follow not what wise men say, follow instead in their footsteps.” (Old Zen Saying). Meaning that in order to reach the levels of elevated consciousness that these wise men achieved, you must live the life that they did, or, “Follow in their footsteps” in order to reach those lofty plateaus. Only reading and following their words doesn’t work.

If you look, not necessarily at what Christ said but the life that he led as depicted in the Bible – He was not a family man. Nor was He a businessman, or a politician, or nationalistic. All of that Old Testament stuff; procreation, obedience, commandments is for a different audience, an audience that was not capable of understanding for themselves and had to be told what to do by an authority figure.

The New Testament, which according to the Gnostic Gospels (conveniently excluded in the few hand-picked Gospels of the Catholic Church that originated Christianity) portrays Christ as leading a simple life and trying to show us how to find peace within. And that we are all Sons of God.

But contemporary Christians do not follow in Christ’s footsteps. Instead, they take selective, self-serving quotes out of the Old Testament that supports their thirst for accumulations of material and psychological things, and open the floodgates to acquisition, ambition, wealth and accumulation.

Old Testament views proclaim the accumulation of stuff as a spiritual pursuit, where just the opposite is true. Accumulations, whether they be large screen TVs, large families, large beliefs, stock portfolios, or large egos, are a burden on the human mind. Accumulation does nothing but induce fear into a mind that is naturally fear free.

I believe that Christ knew and understood this perfectly and tried to indicate by His life how to live, which is simply. But when one conveniently uses the Old Testament (old consciousness without personal insight) to justify their desires, and only uses the New Testament (new consciousness with personal insight), to justify their belief that whatever they do is excused by their faith in Christ, then you have a situation where they are not following in the footsteps of their teacher.

The old argument is that Christ was not here to teach, but simply here to save us. Therefore, we can do pretty much as we please. That’s very convenient, and that’s fine if that is what you want to believe, but I posit that if you look at a life filled with accumulations, including the accumulation of material things, strong opinions, unyielding spiritual views and the super egos that result, you will find a deep level of stress and unhappiness cloaked in a deluded, trance-like belief that all is happiness.

This is Old Testament consciousness with no insight. This is delusion compared to the enlightening ideas of the New testament, according to the Gnostic Gospels. I think that Christ knew that desires and attachments to things that we accumulate eventually cause disappointment and unhappiness, and tried to show us another avenue by the way he lived His life.

The religious wars that have resulted from tight, unyielding views have been anything other than happiness. And the current atmosphere of hatred between Christians, Moslems and Jews, openly expounded upon in the media, will only lead to a nuclear war.

Then we all lose. And I’ll just bet that the religious chicken hawks that are now squawking behind their safe computers that this conflict is our destiny as prophesized in the Bible will be the first to pee their pants when the mushroom clouds rise above their neighborhoods! There is a concept and a reality about proclaiming the desire to join God in heaven!

For Christ’s sake! Christ was trying to teach peace! Don’t you get it? In absence of material things, of strong opinions, of unyielding spiritual views and super egos… is love! Yes! Love cannot happen until those other things go away! You cannot love your neighbor as long as you have strong opinions and unyielding views, because you will try to persuade the poor chap to believe your way. Only then will you love your neighbors; when they give in and you can control them.

You know, Christian monks and nuns (not priests and preachers) understand this; they live a life of poverty A Buddhist monk or nun, when they take on the robes, give away their families, careers, relationships and possessions in trade of three simple robes and a begging bowl. Why? Because they understand, at a very deep level, what it’s all about, and it’s all about letting go. This was what Christ was trying to teach us – letting go!

Letting go of everything is the true happiness. This is the basis of true generosity and loving you neighbor – which is a complete happiness that we, as human beings, can achieve because when we hold onto our material things, strong opinions, unyielding spiritual views and the super egos, we are always afraid that things will change. And in fact; everything does change. Material things come and go, our opinions will be challenged endlessly, our spiritual views will change as we mature, and our super egos will diminish as we age and experience the realities of life.

When we hold tight to these things, even such things as nationalism, politics, and religion, we become tight inside; our hearts become cramped, fearful of someone challenging us, another country, another religion, another political view or party.

And we become fearful, which leads to hatred and anger. We become uncertain because deep inside, beyond a conscious level, we really are uncertain about whether or not our opinions are true.

It’s easy for us to give away things that we have no use for anymore, old clothes or old appliances, but not as easy with things that we still treasure.

Only when we no longer treasure the values of the Old Testament which bring us conflict, and discover the real meaning of the New testament, which brings peace, can we throw away those old values without a second thought.

If we can live a simple life, just enough to get by on, we will naturally begin to see the needs of others, and we will help them. And after we have enough money to live modestly, we begin to take care of the needs of others.

And as we relinquish all the stuff that we once thought made us happy but instead made us fearful, angry and hateful, we find ourselves slowly becoming really Christ-like in our actions and lifestyle. We become loving and generous instead of confrontational, striving and ambitious.

This is true generosity, where we follow our hearts and not our heads. This is the true happiness.

There is much symbolism in the New Testament. One example is in the infamous referral to the number of the beast. Some historians have shown a relation to Hebrew numerology and the name of Nero.

I see a multilayer of anti-Roman sentiment especially in the use of the basic Roman numeral system of representing letters for numbers to also identify the beast. “This calls for some wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is DCLXVI.” – Revelation 13:18

(D = 500 + C = 100 + L = 50 + X = 10 + V = 5 + I = 1) 500+100+50+10+5+1 = 666

Of course one cannot fully discount the numerology attached to the Hebrew alphabet which would possibly have the number of the beast to be a disguised slap at the anti-Jewish, anti-Christ persona in the form of the Roman dictator Nero.

Numbers like words are symbols. They cross reference thought, sound, meaning, and visual expression but in a perhaps more precisely calculated manner. If one is looking for the deepest possible meaning to John’s new “riddle of the sphinx”, so to speak, one has to probe deeper.

The polyglot language of the Roman world shows us how not one, but many languages, were in use at the time. This is evidenced by examples of slightly pre-Roman artifacts such as the Rosetta Stone. Good communication meant use of many of the best words of many base languages and, or, bold interpretations of other exotic, possibly esoteric languages and communications to convey the new Christian message.

The fishermen of souls were of a varied degree of backgrounds and educations. Their message was meant to reach the greatest possible number of souls. As such, I look at the simplest and the most complicated of people of that era and can say with confidence that the Roman numeral system was known to all the commerce and economies of Ben-Zebedee’s world. Beyond the beast being a real person or a real event then, now or in the future, the true number of the beast is a simple and a complicated message.

The complicated answer I leave to the domain of scholars. For me, a simple man in a very complicated modern world, I, a visually oriented person, see the promises of Satan as a large amount, whether it be tallied in money or power etc.

To the ancient world, this was a large number. If one looks at it visually and in the basic six digits of Roman numerics, it is both a large number and a descending number of 500 ranging down to one. The only thing missing is the Hindu-Arabic concept of zero which I add to my interpretation here.

The promise of Satan and of Evil is great but the promise and reality of the promise in the end equals itself to or is less than zero.
About the Author:

With so many things going on in this world today, we feel that
the Bible has no connections at all in present time. This
article will explain, and reveal to you that the Bible The Word
Of The Living God, has more to do with our time, more than ever
before. In the first three chapters of Genesis, it shows how
Adam and Eve, were taken out of the Garden due to sin, and taken
away from the Holy presence of God. The good news is that the
book of Revelation has the keys that will unlock Heavens gates,
and enter us Back into paradise, where we will be able to live
with Jesus the Son of God, and the King of Kings Forever, and
Ever!

However, a lot of us today do not understand the book of
Revelations, and we then translate it into our own
interpretation. 2 Peter 1:20 clearly says that “Knowing this
first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private
interpretation.”

So if it is not of private interpretation then how can I as an
individual understand Bible Prophecy?
1. Before Opening The Bible always say a word of prayer, and ask
the Lord to provide you with wisdom, and understanding.
In James 1:5 it says that “If any of you lack wisdom, let him
ask of God, and it shall be given him.” So how do you know that you
will be given the wisdom that you have prayed for? Numbers 23:19
says that “God is not a man, that he should lie.”
2. Search the Scriptures. “Search the scriptures; for in them ye
think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of
me.” John 5:39 In this scripture Jesus admonishes us to search
the scriptures because the scriptures testify of Him Jesus
Christ, the Lamb of God. The one that has died for our sins.

To understand the Prophecies of Revelation. We must first have
a background. To obtain that background we must have a
knowledge of the Old Testament. There are a lot of people that
says that the Old Testament has nothing to do with the New
Testament. If you do not understand the Old Testament then you
will never understand the New. There are 404 verses found in
the book Of Revelation. Out of the 404 verses of the book, 278
verses refer to other stories, and prophecies in the Old
Testament. The Old Testament is a platform for the first coming
of Jesus. It sets the stage, and gives us examples of things
that would happen to Jesus when He comes, in the New Testament.

In the Old Testament we will review two stories, and then refer
to them in the New Testament, and how they related to the Life
of Jesus.

First we will review the story of Joseph. Joseph was one of 12
brothers. (Gen. 37:9 & Gen. 42:13) Joseph had his robe taken
away from him, he was placed into a pit by his brothers where he did
not have any food or water. Joseph was then sold for the price
of slave.(Gen. 37:28) After he was sold, his brothers took his
coat, and dipped it into blood.(Gen. 37:32) Even though Joseph
went through this ordeal he still came out alive. What Joseph,
and his brothers did not know was that God had a greater plan in
store for them. God later used Joseph to save his family during the
time of famine in the land of Egypt.

Now we will review the Life of Jesus, in the New Testament, and
see how it relates to the story of Joseph in the Old Testament.

Jesus had 12 disciples. (Matt. 11:1) Judas sold Jesus
for the price of a slave, or 30 pieces of silver. (Matt. 27:3)
Once Jesus was in the hands of the Chief Priests and Pilate, He
was beaten and his clothes were taken away from him, which was
splattered with his own blood. (Matt. 27:31) Before Jesus died
he prayed for those who crucified him, and said “Father Forgive
them for they no not what they have done.” (Luke 23:32)
God too had a plan for Jesus. He came to save the world
From sin.

Here in these two stories you will see that the prophecy was
predicted in the life Of Joseph, and was fulfilled in the life
Of Jesus Christ.

Some similarities that are found here are:

1. Both Joseph, and Jesus were sold as a slave.

2. Both, had their garments taken away from them.

3. Both forgave those who had sinned against them.

The Second Story that we will review is of Abraham, and Isaac.
Isaac was a special child because Abraham’s wife Sarah could not
have children, and in their old age God Blessed Abraham, and Sarah
with a son, Isaac. (Gen. 21:3) God, testing Abraham’s faith, and
told him to sacrifice his only son on the alter, as a burnt
offering. (Gen. 22:2) Isaac, then carried the wood on his back
for the alter. (Gen. 22:6) When they reached the mountain that
the Lord had specified, Abraham, then made an alter, and tied
Isaac to it. When he was ready to slay his son, he heard a
Angels voice from heaven saying “Abraham, Abraham Do not lay a
hand upon that lad, and do not do anything to him. (Gen.22: 9 –
12) With thanksgiving, and praise, Abraham, lifted his eyes,
and saw a ram caught in a thicket by his horns. Abraham took
the ram, and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his
son. (Gen. 22:13)

Now we will compare the story of Abraham, and Isaac to the Story
of Jesus, and God the Father. As Isaac had to carry the wood to
the alter, so did Jesus carry wood, He carried the Cross.
When Jesus died, he had a crown of thorns upon his head. (Matt.
27:29)

This story of Abraham, and Isaac is one of Importance. God knew
that one day He too have to offer his Son as a sacrifice, a
ransom, to pay for the price of sin. “For God so loved the
world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 I cannot even begin to imagine the pain that God the
Father felt for his son dying on the cross. “But all this was
done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.”
Matt. 26:56

All I can say is what a loving God we serve! He looked beyond
All selfishness, and gave his only son for the sins of mankind.

So as you can see here with the two examples, I have given, a
knowledge of the Old Testament is needed to open the stories or
keys of the New Testament. If you are trying to understand
Bible Prophecy then you will need to have a background.

I Pray that everyone that reads this article will be Blessed in
the Name of Jesus!

Remember That God Loves You, And So Do I!
About the Author:
